Mmm... How sweet!!!
We embarked on a journey through the past, asking many people what good and nostalgic thing they remember from their childhood...
And surprisingly (or not?), many people told us that sugared apples are one of the things that make their hearts sweet
and remind them of happy times they are glad to revisit...
Yes, perhaps sugared apples are a heritage from the past, but who said we can't have them too?
And indeed, I had no doubt that I was going to create a nostalgic photo set with such apples,
but to make the set authentic and perfect, I needed to find out how they used to make sugared apples in the past.
What was their most successful recipe? What tools did our grandmas use?
And how did they even make them when there were no gas ovens?
So, one call to grandma and I got the recipe, but where would I find the tools?
After all, the tools from the past were different from what we use today, and a gas oven? Who even thinks about that...
How do you photograph nostalgic sugared apples from the past without suitable accessories?
You simply don't... you find them!
And when I want something? I go, inquire, search, and thankfully, eventually find it!
Okay, apples are apples, but what else? You need to create an atmosphere to enjoy them :)
So, we went to look for a house or a cabin, and to give it the feeling of being active and bustling, we equipped it from start to finish...
Added vases of flowers, an antique radio, vintage-style tables, and even hung laundry on a line like in the old days...
Great, so there's a recipe and a place, there are accessories, and there's a sweet girl (no less sweet than the apples :)
So now, we can start preparing...
If I thought making the apples would be easy, I was wrong!
Believe it or not, I started preparing them on Saturday at 12:30 AM and finished only the next day at 07:30 AM!!!
No, I'm not joking! Really!
But sleep is not on the agenda! We still have a busy day ahead of us...
Well, it's a shame to prolong, let's go out and see what happened there...
You've seen the photos, but what about the behind-the-scenes video? Feel free to join us at Grandma's house to eat apples, arrange flowers, and, of course, help with household chores and hanging the laundry :)
And of course, how can we not?
Another editing video with a highly useful tip!
